IBAC Shares Sympathies with African Business Aviation Community for the Loss of Nick Fadugba, FRAeS

Montreal - The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) sends its heartfelt condolences to friends, colleagues, and the family of the late aviation leader and advocate, Nick Fadugba. His work for and dedication to business aviation were most appreciated as the former chair of the African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA) from 2018 to 2023. His leadership and integrity have touched and inspired many throughout the entire global aviation industry.

Kurt Edwards, Director General of IBAC, said, “The international business aviation community is saddened by Nick Fadugba’s passing. We will all remember him for his leadership of AfBAA, his insightful contributions to IBAC’s work, and his passion for the good of aviation and its benefits for Africa in particular. Our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.”

Ali Alnaqbi, Chairman of the IBAC Governing Board, and Founding Chairman, Middle East and North African Business Aviation Association, offered, “It was a privilege to know and work with Nick Fadugba through IBAC. He brought great energy to his advocacy for aviation across the African continent and on the IBAC Board.”

As the founder and CEO of African Aviation Services, Nick was passionate about aviation and worked to promote the industry’s development throughout the African continent. Nick helped initiate high-level international aviation conferences specifically tailored for Africa and helped pioneer aviation publishing in Africa with the launch of AFRICAN AVIATION, to promote the African aviation industry globally. He was a former elected Secretary General of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA), and an Advisor to the Association of African Aviation Training Organisations (AATO). He was also recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS), the highest grade bestowed upon those in the profession of aeronautics or aerospace.
